Sri Madurai Somu was one of the unique vidwans who had performed continuously for seven or eight hours with full throated voice with an amazing talent especially in elaborating rare ragas. His performances were extremely emotive, enjoyable and entertaining. Somu, was famous for talking during the concerts, his words wouldn’t be just words but soft sounds.
This album brings out a lot of his soul filling compositions as well as lots of compositions in rare ragas. Imaginative mind of Somu made him create many fascinating compositions and Ragas which created “Ananda” in every Rasikas.
