In this unique presentation designed by Padma Vibhushan Awardee Dr K. Umayalpuram Sivaraman, this album explores the cosmic dance of Sri Siva and Goddess Parvathi. The initial pieces are immortal compositions that have intense divinity and appealing lyrics to create the atmosphere of divinity. Thereafter, Dr K. Sivaraman, the mrudangam legend, in an exceptional and brilliant display of exquisite artistry, unravels the core concept through an imaginative interpretation of dance sequences of Sri Siva and Parvathi, “thaandavam” and “laasyam”, through his solo that culminates in the form of Lord Sri Ardhanareeswara. The participation of the renowned musicians, Sikkil Sri C Gurucharan and Sri Anil Srinivasan adds valuable and rich dimensions to the album. Sri Anirudda on Jinkling anklets, Sri Murali Krishnan on Cymbals and Trivandrum Sri N Hariharan keeping thalam, lend admirable support in enhancing the overall effect of the album.
