Nama pravaham is the torrential flow of divine blessings on the immortal composers, who in their lives enjoyed, breathed the very bliss of spiritual nectar through their wonderful lyrical outpourings in the form of hyms, couplets and kritis. Nama sankeerthanam was their be all and end all of their lives. Such precious jewels culled out from a few savants and in different languages are selected and presented here by mrudangam legend, Dr Umayalpuram K Sivaraman. This album tries to give the listener the utmost satisfaction of his or her desire to be a part of the meditative process, for which it is produced. Devoid of raga alapana, kalpana swaras and percussion interlude, a garland of nicest flowers in the form of beautiful compositions are presented here to bedeck the nada brahmam, the Almighty. The young musicians, Sri Bharat Sundar, Sri Raghavendra, Sri Rithvik Raja and Sri Sandeep Narayan with a very bright future in the realm of carnatic music have sung the glory of God with utmost devotion and sincerity in the company of Dr Umayalpuram K Sivaraman and Sri B Srikrishnan, who ably supports on the harmonium by closely following the artistes to enhance the presentation. Mrudangam legend Dr Umayalpuram K Sivaraman, clearly brings the salient aspects of his superb and wizardry mrudangam accompaniment to this genre of devotional music.
