V. Sanjeev started learning violin at the age of seven. He was a prodigy as he was able to translate songs into swaras even at the age of three. He inherited the essence of Carnatic music from his versatile mother; Smt. Brinda Venkataramanan, a disciple of Tanjore Shri S. Kalyanaraman. Sanjeev has been under the tutelage of his illustrious Guru Kalaimamani Kum. A. Kanyakumari since 1990.
